Let them prefer nothing whatever to Christ.
In addition to the many pastoral works outside the abbey, administrative tasks as well as the upkeep of the abbey building and grounds, the monks of St. Andrew Abbey also serve in other areas listed below.
Benedictine High School
Established in 1927 by the Benedictine Monks of Cleveland, our role as an educational community is to model, educate and challenge each student to become a part of the tradition and spirit of St. Benedict. Benedictine is a community made up of enthusiastic young men who strive academically, spiritually and physically to become a “Man of Benedictine.” Benedictine High School offers an exciting experience of growth and development for young men from around Northeast Ohio.
Assumption Parish
St. Andrew Abbey has led the parish since March 16, 1977 and continues the Benedictine pastoral ministery today. Fr. Justin Drywal, O.S.B. serves as the pastor and several abbey priests help out with weekend masses and celebrating the Sacraments.
Loyola Retreat House
The quiet setting of the retreat house offers many people a place to meet God, privately or in a group. Many of the monks lead or assist the staff with retreats, conferences and gatherings.
